It’s nice to meet you!

Our founder Margaret, a proud Harvard graduate (Quincy House, Class of ‘14), is one of the most highly sought-after tutors in the world. She has tutored nearly every single standardized test (SAT, ACT, SSAT, ISEE, LSAT, GMAT, GRE…) and a host of high school and college subjects from Calculus to Mandarin Chinese. She has helped 400+ students and families since she quit her Wall Street corporate job in 2015 and began her journey serving as a personal test prep tutor and admissions consultant to the students and families she holds dear to her heart.

Her specialty is the SAT. After having explained to a student every single official SAT question out there perhaps hundreds of times, in hundreds of unique ways, Margaret has learned as much from her students as they have from her. She has understood that there is very big difference between knowing a subject well—even very well—and being able to teach it to someone else.

The art of pedagogy is a deep and mysterious one. In Plato’s Menos, Socrates demonstrates that everything that could be taught is actually already known within the student's mind and that knowledge just needs to be released by a good teacher. He does this by successfully showing that a slave boy already knew the geometry he was about to teach him.

Margaret holds immense respect for each one of the students she encounters, no matter the obstacles he or she may be facing. Many times, students are discouraged too early on from pursuing their academic dreams and passions, believing that they are “too stupid” or “simply not good enough.” Nothing can be farther from the truth. With her help, students have raised their scores hundreds of points, graduated from college instead of dropping out, and received scholarships and offers of admissions at the nation’s highest educational institutions.

Fundamentally, tutoring is a personal, one-on-one relationship between teacher and student where miracles are supposed to happen. She wants to walk with you in your next important phase of your educational or professional career.

  • “Came here only wanting to increase my scores. With much practice and efficient strategies that I learned here, my scores actually exceeded my goal. Margaret created specific test-taking strategies for me, not broad ones meant to cater to everyone. With the importance of standardized testing in our society, these strategies will be paramount to me outside of just the ACT. After achieving my scores, Margaret further assisted me in the rest of the college application process (essays, descriptions, etc.) This was necessary for me, since my school's college counselors didn't give good, direct feedback on my application. Without Margaret’s help, I surely would not have gotten into my dream schools, one of which I'm currently attending.”

  • “I had an amazing experience focusing on SAT prep during my junior year of high school. My SAT score increased by 300 points after sessions. Many of my friends also had the same outcome. I highly recommend. Not only did I increase my grade and test taking abilities, but I also became a more confident and organized student.”
